St Michael, linked with its neighbour Mauterndorf, has 28 pistes with a total length of 80 kilometers (50 miles). There are 70 kilometers (44 miles) of cross country ski trails at St Michael. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half pipe. A small proportion of the pistes at St Michael are covered by snow-making. The nearest airport is at Salzburg and the nearest train station to St Michael is at Tamsweg.
