The Remarkables Alpine Park is known for its true alpine environment, relaxed atmosphere and sense of fun. Snowboarders, free-skiers and families flock to the mountain’s varied trails and back-country areas. It’s freestyle heaven with jibs for all levels in three terrain parks – including the new Stash at The Remarkables - and Super-pipe. Not-so-serious visitors can forget the boards or skis and enjoy the Ozone Tubing Park. Live music on the deck adds to the ambiance. Beginners will love the new surface conveyor lifts while everyone benefits from new snow-making installed this year. Children aged six and younger get free day passes at The Remarkables Ski Area – a 45-minute drive (26 km) from central Queenstown.

Inspector Clouseau de New Zealand écrit:
Really enjoyed the skiing with my 9 yr old daughter and there was plenty to challenge our intermediate ability. Loved the snow conditions, small lift queues and wide open runs. I imagine it can get pretty icy but it was fine for us. The lifts were fine and generally took you out to the top of each corner. Rental gear was also a good standard though the hire price seemed high.
On the down side the wife and son weren't skiing and were deeply frustrated to find non-skiers were not allowed to use the chairlifts here (unlike most other ski fields). Also the arrangements for lessons are a bit odd. Make sure you read details and plan your day before you travel up.
