The Kahurangi National park in New Zealand is not often visited by skiers and boarders because it is so remote. That's a shame because SW storms can dump heavily here and the steep terrain offers a vast array of possibilities and unusually for New Zealand, excellent riding through open beech forest. Here is Rob Davies, one of the founders of snow-forecast.com, making the most of the first dump of the 2007 season. Well worth the hike.
