Professional skiing developed at St. Anton in 1901 and with the opening oft he Galzigbahn in 1937 another milestone in the history of skiing was set. Due to the performance of it's pioneers the Arlberg today is the cradle of alpine skiing. In 2001, the resort hosted the World Alpine Ski Championships. From winter 2016/17 Ski Alberg will be a connected skiing area. With the construction of 4 new gondolas it will be possible to get a cableway link between Alpe Rauz and Zürs. So, Ski Alberg will be the largest skiing area in Austria with 305 km of slopes and 200 km of deep powder runs! The Ski Arlberg pass is valid for St. Anton plus Stuben am Arlberg, St. Christoph, Lech, Zürs, Warth, Schröcken, and additionally for Sonnenkopf/Klösterle. Beyond the new gondolas a free ski bus can be used to reach all the areas, too.

Commentaires de Visiteurs de St. Anton

Jamie Barrington de United Kingdom écrit:

I have been to St Anton three times before and two of those are in April and even then the pistes are white. I went in February 2015 and I was lucky enough to experience the 4.3km sled run; it was great fun. The off-piste skiing was good too; great expanses of powder. On-piste was excellent with a wide variety of slopes. The new heated chairlift: Tanzböden and the fun slope at Galzig are great. We had a small dump when we were there and it made great skiing. The Rendl is great for photos and when the other mountains are limited with snow there is always snow over there. The lift staff are friendly and the village is beautiful with lots of places to get equipment and you can ski to the nearby villages on the same ski pass. St Anton is a great place to ski.
